Ob das mal ein Klassiker wird ? Ich bezweifle es, eher etwas für die Landjugend ...

2015 may be a landmark year for the motorcycle industry, especially with the introduction of the Honda Bulldog. While it is just a concept model at the moment, the bulldog seeks to extend or perhaps even break the conceptions of ‘luxury’ where it pertains to the industry. The design appears to be more modular and blocky than ever before, but not in such a way that would render it unattractive. The aesthetics, however, are only the beginning of this motorbike. Upon closer inspection one will find that it is actually equipped with compartments suitable for camping gear in addition to accessory storage compartments mounted on the side of the fuel tank.

While the aesthetics are pretty and overall functional, a look underneath the hood shows an even bigger picture. The engine has plenty of great features ready to satisfy both the hardcore motorcyclist and the casual rider:

Liquid Cooled Fuel Tank
Four Stroke, Two Cylinder 400cc Engine
15-Inch Wide Tires
730mm Seat Height

While the technology in the engine will become standard, the non-standard part about this bike is the way it is designed. While most motorcycles are made for aesthetics, this one is designed more for functionality. For example, it is considered more of a touring/adventure bike, and it is rumored to get 90+ miles to the gallon. In addition to that, this bike is considered to be a great offroad vehicle, though it has not managed to make it past the concept stage yet. Still, it has garnered plenty of positive reactions from the community and should do quite well if it ever manages a US release. To make it even better, the bike is clearly built for off-road adventures, featuring protective cages for the dual headlight system mounted at the front of the bike, and the engine compartment. Both of these will help in the event of rough terrain.

In general, the Bulldog will target those individuals who have not quite jumped onto the motorcycle bandwagon, or, young adults are whore looking to purchase their first motorbike. This is a great idea considering how many members of the younger generation spend their time indoors playing video games rather than spending time on the road, experiencing the absolute thrill of a motorbike. The question, of course, is whether or not this trend will continue. Hardcore bikers will undoubtedly have trouble accepting something quite so blocky, but those who are up for a bit of an off road adventure will surely be happy with this piece of engineering. That being said, this is definitely something that you will want to check out in the coming months. If the bike makes it past the concept stage, it will take riders to places they have never been before.
